how to set difficulty? im new here, i need your help

i just bought DB today to try out, it works fine except for one thing: every profile i ran is at NORMAL difficulty. and i found the settings in Bot to change the difficulties, i know. but when i entered the game, it is still at defult difficulty which is NORMAL!

i had searched online, and did not found any thread mentioning this issue, i guess maybe it is so easy that everyone knows it? but i really dont know how to change the difficulties. can anyone tell me what the trick is?
